An Environmental Protection Agency report has just revealed that at least six million pounds of toxic substances were released into the air, soil and water from various industries in Puerto Rico.

As a United State’s commonwealth, Puerto Rico ranks number 13 among US jurisdictions that emit the most toxic chemicals into the air, soil, and water per square mile. The main industries responsible for this reality in the south of the island, between Yauco and Guayama, endangering thousands of residents, and the environment.
