Dan is a progressive reformer whose hard-work yields results. He’s a committed public servant and community advocate, always looking to make life better for the people of Oakland. Throughout his  career, Dan has worked as a policy director; environmental, public interest, and social justice advocate.

Dan highlights where Oakland has made strides forward combating climate change, letting Governor Newsom know the state could and should adopt similar solutions. Then he humbly asks the governor to declare a state of emergency for California, for the powers would enable Newsom to act immediately.
