On May 4-6 in Washington D.C., lawmakers and experts to protect our lands, waters, and democracy gathered at an Elected Officials to Protect America (E.O.P.A.) Energy Security Summit where they learned more about the climate crisis and how state, and local elected officials can continue to make progress despite federal cut backs to clean energy initiatives.
Climate investments in the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), were discussed and highlighted at a press conference afterwards before elected officials who are veterans visited and ensure lawmakers on Capitol Hill. There they explained uthe economic and national security implications of keeping the federal climate investments. The said investments in sustainable infrastructure and climate resiliency are key to energy security.
The Summit gathering helped foster strategic partnerships with elected officials, impact investors, and climate solution companies to continue clean energy initiatives.
