The burning of fossil gas and oil in homes and buildings significantly worsens indoor air pollution and harms public health. In New York State, buildings account for one-third of greenhouse gas emissions. To achieve the state’s climate goals, it’s crucial to swiftly reduce the reliance on fossil fuels in buildings.

This webinar brought together leading elected officials and policy experts to discuss opportunities, challenges, and policies. They were able to candidly inform everyone about success stories they know about in order to advance building electrification policies for new buildings in New York.

Assemblymember Emily Gallagher, sponsor of the All-Electric Building Act, and leading policy experts spoke about what building electrification means for different New York communities. Over 58 attended the zoom webinar.
